This week in celebrity real estate, Ethan Hawke’s NYC townhouse hit the market and Tyler Perry’s former bachelor pad sold.

Ethan Hawke lists colorful NYC townhouse
Apparently, Ethan Hawke’s love life isn’t the only thing that’s unusually colorful. So is the Chelsea townhouse that the actor just listed for $6.25 million.

Once the husband of Uma Thurman, with whom he has two children, Hawke later married his second wife, Ryan, who was the nanny for Hawke and Thurman’s kids. Ethan and Ryan Hawke now also have two children together, and their two-family home at 353 W 21st St, New York, NY 10011 reflects his need for family space.

With six bedrooms and four bathrooms, the 21-foot-wide townhouse offers 3,500 square feet of living space over three separate floors, including a garden space. There is an open kitchen big enough to handle the chaos of four kids and their friends, plus a master suite that opens onto a terrace.

According to the Real Estalker, Hawke bought the townhouse in 2005 for $3 million. The building has undergone renovation and is being marketed by listing agents Leslie Marshall and James Cornell of the Corcoran Group as a homestyle abode in the heart of Chelsea, where art galleries and the grand High Line park make it one of the most happening neighborhoods in all of Manhattan.

Tyler Perry’s former bachelor pad sells for $11.25 million
Is Tyler Perry’s former Hollywood Hills home the ultimate bachelor pad? The bird street residence boasts not just modern fixtures, but a pool, full gym and nightclub space with disco ball.

The actor-director-screenwriter bought the home in 2006 for $9.6 million, and perhaps in an indicator of the housing recovery in full swing, sold it in late 2012 for $11.25 million.

Sitting on a third of an acre, the home is perched above the city with spectacular views of the L.A. skyline. The pool itself has a glass bottom, visible from the lounge and billiards area. A glass catwalk also acts as the clear ceiling of the wine cellar.

Measuring 9,725 square feet, the home has 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Also included in Perry’s home is a media screening room and top-of-the-line kitchen.

Topping the list of the highest paid men in entertainment, Perry recently bought a sprawling mansion in Atlanta for $7.6 million.
