Stocks Surge, S&P Hits Record on Fed's Policy Announcement

Stocks climbed on Wednesday, lifting the S&P 500 to a record finish, after the Federal Reserve said it would continue to reduce its asset purchases, as expected, and said the economy is rebounding.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed unofficially 98 points higher, the S&P 500 finished 14 points ahead at a record 1956.98 and the Nasdaq added 25 points.
