This week in celebrity real estate was pretty quiet. However, it was reported that pro snowboarder Shaun White bought a new home in Encinitas and Sam Ronson, DJ and former girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan, picked up a new place in Santa Monica.
Most of us remain a little confused about that episode in her life when Sam Ronson was dating Lindsay Lohan, who, even after they broke up, still wound up living next to Ronson in a sophisticated modern rental in Venice Beach, Calif.
Maybe to help put all of that contentious and confusing real estate and personal history to bed, so to speak, Ronson has finally moved on. Like, literally.
According to reports, Ronson put down about $185,000 for the $810,000-priced home and took out a mortgage for the remaining $625,000, which must mean business is pretty good for the skinny-jeaned, pixie-shorn, nightlife merrymaker.
Ronson’s new pad is about seven blocks from the beach in Santa Monica and had been completely remodeled. The place features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an outdoor sitting area with fire pit.
Shaun White buys new home by beach, not mountains
A beach home is pretty desirable, but when your career requires you to be in the snow all day long, its appeal increases.
Rather than pick up a home in Telluride, Colo., Park City, Utah, or somewhere else within boarding distance of the ski lift, professional snowboarder Shaun White chose to buy a house in Encinitas, Calif.
The carrot-topped Olympian dropped $3.85 million on the 3-bed, 3-bath home situated right on the bluffs above the beach. Floor-to-ceiling windows capture views of the Pacific Ocean, and the living spaces open out to an extensive deck with fire pit. Stairs provide easy access to the beach below.
Measuring 3,501 square feet, White’s new home was built in 1999 and was last listed for $4.25 million; he scored a 9.4 percent discount when he purchased the place in August.
