A "disturbed" plane passenger injured himself and a cockpit crew member on a flight to China, airline KLM said Tuesday.
The Dutch carrier said the incident took place Sunday on Flight KL897 from Amsterdam to Beijing.
An "emotionally disturbed passenger" injured himself in a toilet then a member of the cockpit crew in a cabin galley before he was overpowered by other staff and passengers, KLM said in a statement.
The airline said the flight safely landed in Beijing, stressing that at no point was flight safety at risk.
KLM said the injured crew member was "in good condition" after receiving treatment in Beijing and has since returned to the Netherlands.
Further details on the incident were not immediately available.
