The show must go on. Just ask Scotty McCreery. The country crooner and former "American Idol" champ was performing at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts Friday night in Bethel, NY, when he accidentally tumbled off the stage into the audience pit while performing the (aptly named) Travis Tritt ditty, "T.R.O.U.B.L.E."
Crowd surfing this was not.
But luckily, the 18-year-old McCreery only suffered a few bruises and managed to keep singing with barely a pause. And he was a good sport about it too, later posting video of the misstep afterward on his Twitter page with the caption, "If anybody wants a good laugh."
McCreery was opening for fellow country star Brad Paisley, who couldn't resist poking fun at his young protege at their next gig at Darien Lake, NY, on Sunday. Not letting him forget his faux pas, Paisley had traffic cones placed in the section of the stage where McCreery fell off, a picture of which Scotty tweeted, writing "@BradPaisley wanted me to be extra catious tonight! Thanks Brad!"
McCreery added: "Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again...he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song."
Glad to know he's still got his sense of humor.
