When she was just 18 years old, Rebecca Minkoff knew she wanted to channel her love of costumes and dressmaking into a career in fashion design. She moved from her native California to New York City and in 2005 launched her namesake label, Rebecca Minkoff, with her older brother, Uri.
The success of her first handbag, the now iconic “Morning After Bag,” catapulted the label into the big leagues, and today, Minkoff’s designs are sold in over 900 stores worldwide. Here, the designer and social media lover, shares the apps that help her navigate the city in a hurry and share new designs with her fans.
To Schedule: Beautified
My friend, Hannah Bronfman, launched this great app last year. It allows users to book last-minute beauty appointments through a chosen list of salons and spas. It’s not only a great way to find a salon in a hurry if you want a service like a facial or a blowout, but it’s also a great way to discover new salons in your area!
To Get Around: Uber
I use this app way too much! It’s a great way to book a taxi or a car in a hurry, no matter where you are.
To Share… in Public: Instagram
I love sharing photos with my friends and followers. It’s a great way to get feedback from my loyal customers about upcoming products, as well as share something as simple as what I’m eating for dinner at a great new restaurant.
To Share… in Private: Snap Chat
This app allows me to share and receive pictures and videos from my friends. I love sharing things with my friends in real time that I might not otherwise share on Instagram.
To Communicate: What’s App
This is my go to for keeping in touch while I’m travelling internationally. I can text my family and friends – international rates don’t apply.
