Authorities have identified a body pulled from Lake Michigan last weekend as being missing Chicago medical student Ambrose Monye.

Monye’s body was found on Sunday, May 8, in the waters off South Lake Shore Drive. An autopsy was inconclusive about the cause and manner of death but more tests are being conducted, officials say. Police have said it’s unclear if foul play was involved.

The 28-year-old medical student was last seen on April 22. The fourth-year Guadalajara University medical student was in Chicago completing his clinical rotations at Jackson Park Hospital and was weeks away from graduating when he vanished.

"He's just four weeks from his goal. His tickets to graduation are already bought for the ceremony. He ordered his cap and gown and everything," Joseph Monye, Ambrose's younger brother, told Dateline two weeks ago.
