Missing 6-year-old Alexis Lynn Johnson has been located safe and the suspect in her alleged abduction is in police custody.
The details are unclear, but the young girl was found sometime Monday evening and Harvey Eugene York Jr., her mother's ex-boyfriend, was taken into custody.
Officials issued an Amber Alert for Alexis Sunday night after family members say she was snatched by York after he and her mother got into an argument near her home in Highlands, Texas.
“I thought he was getting some of my stuff out the truck and telling her bye and the next thing we knew, he cranked the truck up and left with her. So we jumped in the truck and chased him,” Misty Howard, Alexis's mother, told NBC affiliate KFOR.
On Monday, a member of York's family reported he and the girl had stopped by a Louisiana home. The truck York was driving at the time was also located in Louisiana Monday morning, according to police.
