Boeing Co. disclosed Monday that Chief Executive W. James McNerney Jr. got restricted stock awards valued at $25.3 million for 2005.

The commercial airline and defense contractor also said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that McNerney’s bonus for 2005 was $2.3 million and his salary for that year was $841,346.

McNerney also was paid $334,465 in other compensation for 2005, Chicago-based Boeing said.

The company said that this figure included $74,160 for personal use of the company aircraft associated with relocation, and $137,553 for other personal use of company aircraft. Boeing said the “other compensation” also covered $30,204 in tax reimbursement for temporary housing and ground transportation associated with relocation.

According to Boeing, certain executives are encouraged to use company-owned aircraft for business and personal travel for security reasons.

McNerney has been Boeing’s chief executive, president and chairman since July 2005, the company said. He has served on Boeing’s board since 2001, when he was chief executive of 3M Co.

Boeing also said in Monday’s filing that McNerney received $34,254 in other types of compensation, which include contributions to retirement and 401(k) plans and premiums paid for life insurance.
