Viacom to sell DreamWorks library for $900 mln

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Viacom Inc. on Friday said it will sell the DreamWorks film library to Soros Strategic Partners and Dune Capital Management for $900 million.

The parties have also struck a five-year distribution agreement. Viacom will retain minority ownership as well as music publishing and other rights associated with the library, including sequel and merchandising rights.

Viacom has also retained the right to repurchase the library after five years.

The deal is expected to close in April.
