Police in Bristol Township have barred the senior class president of Truman High School from attending Friday's graduation ceremony.

There are fears Tyrone Lewis could be targeted because his sister testified against a reputed member of a Trenton, N.J., gang in a murder trial.

But Lewis's mother reportedly says she doesn't believe there is a plot against her son and plans legal action. Her son had been scheduled to be a commencement speaker.

Officials say metal detectors will be used at the school through Friday, and a beefed-up police presence is planned for the graduation ceremony.

Police say that if Lewis wishes to address his classmates, he can do a live video broadcast from a secure location.
