Police in the Philadelphia area are on the lookout for two men who’ve come up with a different method for robbing convenience stores: They call it the “splash and grab.”

Police say one of the robbers buys a coffee or hot chocolate and then throws the drink in the cashier’s face while his accomplice scoops the money from the cash register.

Police say at least one cashier has suffered burns in the splash and grab robberies that began about two weeks ago.

The two robbers repeatedly have been caught on surveillance cameras. They have robbed six convenience stores in New Jersey, three in Philadelphia, five in Delaware County, one in Bucks County and one in Wilmington, Del.

Wawa and 7-Eleven stores have been the pair’s primary targets.

Police say the stores are offering up to $10,000 for the men’s arrest.
