A Virginia electrician who drops off trash at a dump bin near Danville sometimes browses a bit, and he recently came up with a rare discovery.

Michael Hoskins says he found a 188-year-old King James Bible — and he's turning down offers for it approaching one thousand dollars.

Hoskins tells The Danville Register and Bee that he found the Bible in four pieces, put them together and took it home.

The Bible was printed in Pittsburgh in 1818. It appears to have fire damage and has watermarks on some of its inner pages. According to Hoskins' research, it's one of fewer than a half-dozen copies in existence.

Hoskins says he's had offers of around 900 dollars for the Bible. He says he'll sell "at the right price."
