Elizabeth Wilner has covered campaign politics since 1992, when she took a job right out of grad school with nonpartisan political handicapper Charlie Cook, helping to write and edit the Cook Political Report. She went on to the deputy political director post at ABC News, where she helped the network cover the midterm and presidential elections of 1998, 2000 and 2002, plus big breaking stories in between, such as the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the political impact of the September 11 attacks.

In the spring of 2003, she left ABC for the political director post at NBC News, where she oversees the network's political and election coverage.
