MSNBC.com's expands coverage

As Notre Dame embarks on the second half of the season, MSNBC.com's special section on Fighting Irish football, Notre Dame Central, adds two new columnists. MSNBC.com hired former Notre Dame running back Allen Pinkett as its lead columnist providing commentary on the Irish each week. Pinkett was a three-time All-American running back for the Irish, graduating in 1986, and played seven seasons in the NFL for the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. He provides commentary on all Irish games broadcast nationally by the Westwood One radio network.

MSNBC.com also features the Irish Insider report including multiple reports each week on the latest Notre Dame football news. South Bend (Ind.) Tribune writer Eric Hansen, the author of two books on Notre Dame and the recipient of eight national awards from the Football Writers Association of American for his work on Notre Dame football, authors the Irish Insider.

Said George Malone, sports editor for MSNBC.com, "With the addition of Pinkett and Hansen, MSNBC.com's Notre Dame Central provides insight and commentary on the Irish you won't find anywhere else. We're delighted to have their contributions on the site."

Notre Dame Central launched on MSNBC.com in 1998 and has become a premier destination for all things Notre Dame football.
