The Children's Creative Center for supervised play and crafts making is a big draw for small kids, and kids of all ages will enjoy the indoor swimming pool and electronic-games room.

The glass-enclosed elevators scooting up and down the heart of this complex are fun for kids, as are the indoor pool and the easily accessible subterranean levels of the underground city. They have sandwiches and other light snacks, but the attraction (and justification for the long ride from downtown) is the ice cream. It's made right there, and while youngsters may prefer plain vanilla, their adult companions find themselves immobilized with choice over concoctions that incorporate such ingredients as passion fruit and maple taffy.

Known especially for its supercheap all-you-can-eat lobster and beef extravaganzas, the menu also has lots of sandwiches and other simple foods that kids like.
