Police in the northern French port of Dunkirk have seized 783 pounds of heroin, the second largest haul on record in France, a police source said Thursday.

The drug has a street value of around 10 million euros ($13 million) and was found on Wednesday in a Turkish-registered truck that was getting ready to board a ferry to England.

The drugs were wrapped in plastic and hidden in sports bags.

The driver was detained.
