Britain is to withdraw all its troops from Bosnia, Sky News reported Wednesday.

A Defense Ministry spokeswoman would not confirm the report but said an announcement regarding British forces in the region is planned for Thursday in the House of Commons.

Defense Secretary Des Browne said in an interview with the London Times late last year that 600 British troops based in Bosnia in policing roles would be withdrawn.

Prime Minister Tony Blair said last week that 1,600 British soldiers would be withdrawn from Iraq in the next few months, once Basra is handed over to Iraqi authorities. No date has been specified for the handover.

On Monday officials announced an additional 1,400 troops will be dispatched to southern Afghanistan, swelling the British contribution to the NATO-commanded force there to 7,700 troops.
