A drive-by shooting critically wounded an 18-month-old girl in a car seat and a man who was standing outside the vehicle.

The girl’s mother, Rebekah Harris, was dropping off the man at an intersection Sunday night when a car pulled up and about 10 shots were fired, said police Detective Sal LaBarbera.

The little girl, who was in the back seat of the vehicle, was hit in the face, LaBarbera said. Harris and another child, a 4-year-old boy, were not hurt.

The man, Hollis Roberts, 25, was in critical but stable condition with wounds to the chest and leg, LaBarbera said.

Harris pleaded for public help in solving the crime, saying at a news conference Monday that her child was dying.

“She’s not going to make it, to just be honest,” Harris said. “She was an innocent bystander, and she shouldn’t have been hit. And I just ask that anyone that knows anything please come forward because my daughter is losing her life over this, and she didn’t deserve this.”
