The Ohio attorney general is speaking out following chief investigator Duane Pohlman's investigation that revealed registered sex offenders on MySpace.com.
In February, Pohlman uncovered 80 Cuyahoga County registered sex offenders who had MySpace pages, including Kurt Rotcavich, a convicted rapist.
Now, several states, including Ohio, are demanding that the Web site turn over the names of all sex offenders on their site and report the steps they've taken to boot them off.
Ohio attorney general Marc Dann made his feelings clear on Tuesday.
"If you are a registered sex offender, I don't want you anywhere near my daughter or my daughter's Web site, or my son's Web site, and MySpace markets itself to children," said Dann.
MySpace.com responded, saying, "We agree with the attorneys general that keeping bad people out of good places on the Internet is a challenge and a priority.
"We are in the initial stages of cross-referencing our membership against the national registered sex offender database and removing any confirmed matches." To read the full statement from MySpace.com, click here.
