An ice cream truck apparently swerved to avoid a boy on a skateboard when it struck and killed a woman walking to church, police said.

“She never went anywhere except for church,” her goddaughter, Maria Rodriguez, 31, told the Daily News for Monday editions.

Adelaide Rodriguez, 67, was about a block from Caminando con Jesus Pentecostal church in Brooklyn when she was hit Saturday night.

“A lot of kids in this neighborhood who are now adults grew up with her in their lives. She was an angel,” said one of her three sons, Bennie Plaza, 53.

Anna Lopez, 55, Rodriguez’s neighbor for more than 30 years, said: “A lot of people around here are going to miss her.”

The 41-year-old ice cream truck driver, whose name was not released, was not charged. But police issued summonses for equipment violations and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
