Lady Bird Johnson remained hospitalized Saturday but is doing well while undergoing tests and is with her two daughters, a family spokeswoman said.

“Mrs. Johnson had a good night. She’s resting comfortably. No change,” spokeswoman Elizabeth Christian said. “Everything is good.”

The former first lady, 94, was hospitalized Thursday night at Seton Medical Center because of a slight fever. She is expected to return home some time in the next couple of days, Christian said.

Daughters Luci Baines Johnson of Austin and Lynda Johnson Robb of Virginia were with her at the hospital. Other family members and friends have been at her side and reported her being alert and communicating with her visitors.

Her husband, former President Lyndon B. Johnson, died in 1973.

Lady Bird Johnson has continued an active life in the Austin area since his death, even amid her own medical setbacks.

She was hospitalized with a stroke in 2002 that left her with difficulty speaking. But she still makes public appearances at the LBJ Library and Museum and at other events and has remained devoted to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center she founded.
