Haitian sloops rock around in rough waters in front of the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas. In an active hurricane year, the Bahamas' collection of 700 islands usually gets a hurricane threat but isn't always a target. The last storm to come through the area was in early September 2004 with Hurricane Frances.
