A cruise ship bumped a pier at the Manhattan passenger terminal on Thursday but caused little damage and no injuries were reported, the Fire Department said.

The ship had a few thousand people aboard when it bumped the Hudson River pier shortly after 7 a.m. Carnival Cruise Lines released a statement saying its Carnival Victory was docking when it bumped the pier.

The Miami-based company said the incident was being investigated and the ship was expected to continue in service.
