Suspicious package draws Charleston police

Portions of a major downtown street were closed off Friday while bomb squad officers investigate a suspicious package.

Police said the package, which appears attached to a cell phone, was found lying near parked cars on Calhoun Street before 9 a.m. ET.

Some classes at the nearby College of Charleston were canceled as a result of the suspicious package.
