The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and coffee chain Starbucks Coffee Co. on Tuesday issued a voluntary recall for children's plastic cups.

The recall includes four styles of Starbucks children's plastic 10-ounce cups: "Dot" Red Ladybug; "Dash" Green Turtle; Bunny Pink; and Chick Yellow. They were sold at Starbucks locations nationwide between May 2006 and August 2007 for about $6.

If dropped, a colorful face on the cup can break off and leave small parts or sharp edges exposed, which can pose a choking or laceration hazard.

Starbucks has received seven reports of the cups breaking, including two in which a child began to choke on the parts. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should stop using the products immediately, Starbucks said. They can contact Starbucks for a refund and a complimentary drink as an incentive to return the cups.

Shares of Starbucks advanced 11 cents to $26.77 Tuesday.
