Msnbc.com launches interactive trivia game

Msnbc.com and Nissan have teamed up to launch “This Day in History,” an interactive quiz where consumers test drive their knowledge about U.S. news and world events.  Msnbc.com’s “This Day in History” trivia game provides consumers with a fun and engaging way to explore the past and also get the day’s current news, entertainment and information.

Consumers can find this daily quiz in the U.S. News section of the site where they can test their knowledge on topics ranging from pop culture to historical events.  After selecting from the list of multiple choice questions, a page featuring video, photos and links to related-content reveals the correct answer.  These interactive features allow consumers to immerse themselves in the topic of the day or explore other related subjects that peak their interest.  Consumers can also search the archive in case they miss the day’s quiz or want to learn more about a historical moment in time.

“We’ve taken a creative approach to developing new ways to engage both consumers and advertisers on msnbc.com,” said Kyoo Kim, vice president of advertising sales, msnbc.com.  “This Day In History gives consumers a fun and interactive way to engage with the brand and uncover compelling and even quirky moments in history, while providing advertisers with a rich platform to reach a highly engaged audience.”

Nissan will sponsor a contest, along with the launch of the new trivia game, inviting consumers to enter to win a 2008 Rogue SL AWD.  Media communications agency OMD and Nissan developed the concept of the trivia game and sweepstakes along with msnbc.com in order to provide consumers interested in current events with an opportunity to interact with news and engage with the Nissan brand.
