If you’re heading to San Diego for beach fun under the Southern California sun, we have some fabulous hotel deals you positively can’t pass, for every budget and taste. Pick between swank downtown luxury for $194/night; a tropical Hawaiian theme of a Mission Bay property for $138/night; or a cozy bargain overnight a short drive from San Diego’s attractions for only $60.

Swanky overnight at W San Diego for $194
Maritime chic is the name of the game at the downtown W San Diego. Frommer’s writes, “Nouveau nautique is the theme, with aqua and sand tones accenting the whites, a window seat for gazing down on this languid corner of downtown, and a beach ball-shaped pillow, which should be the only exclamation point needed to remind you that this hotel is simply fun.” Regular rates run upward of $300/night but Orbitz now offers rooms for only $194

$138/night at waterfront Catamaran Resort & Spa
Adjacent to Mission Bay Aquatic Park, the Catamaran Resort & Spa features Hawaii-themed décor with an array of fresh tropical touches. Fodor’s writes, “Exotic birds perch in the lush lobby of this appealing hotel on Mission Bay. Tiki torches light the way through grounds thick with tropical foliage to the six two-story buildings and the 14-story high-rise.” The rich menu of water sports activities is a bonus. Book a room here through Orbitz and get a reduced rate of $138/night.

Days Inn in MissionValley for $60/night
By far the best price-crunching deal we found, this Hotels.com bargain gets you an overnight at Days Inn in Mission Valley for just $60! The rate includes a stay within five miles from downtown San Diego, Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Rooms here are somewhat kitschy but perfectly comfy, as you’d expect from a Days Inn property. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with a spa tub and sun deck. Free shuttles take guests to the Zoo, Sea World and the airport, plus you get complimentary breakfast.
