Adubato is also a four-time Emmy Award-winning anchor and political commentator for Thirteen/WNET (PBS).   He is a much sought after motivational speaker, Star-Ledger columnist and the author of two books, Speak from the Heart: Be Yourself and Get Results (Simon & Schuster) and Make the Connection: Improve Your Communication at Work and at Home (Rutgers University Press).  His third book, “Crisis Communication: What Were They Thinking? The good, the bad and the totally clueless” examines highly-publicized and often controversial public relations and media mishaps.

Steve was formerly New Jersey’s youngest state legislator at the age of 26 and understands the political “game” on many levels.  As an academic, Steve taught a course at Montclair State University examining the 2004 presidential election.  The course explored the candidates, their campaigns, the power of polling as well as the pervasive role of the media in influencing the outcome of a national campaign.  Steve has written a syndicated column on politics for well over a decade.  His past columns can be found by logging on to www.stand-deliver.com.

In addition to his career as a broadcast journalist, Dr. Adubato is a Rutgers University visiting lecturer with a Ph.D. from Rutgers in the field of mass communication and a Masters from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers.  He is also a “distinguished visiting professor” at Montclair State University in the field of broadcast journalism as well as a visiting professor at Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business.  Dr. Adubato’s research and writing has focused on the role of the media in American society and the current state of journalism. 

Additionally, Steve is the president of Stand & Deliver: Make the Connection, which is a dynamic, hands-on professional development and executive coaching program Steve created to help today’s professionals reach their potential as leaders. Steve conducts communication workshops, seminars and keynote speeches on such topics as presentation skills, leadership and team building, customer service and dealing with the media.
