Apple unveiled new Mac Pro computer and Xserve server products Tuesday, saying both are up to twice as fast as previous models.
In a standard configuration, the new Mac Pro includes two Intel Quad-Core Xeon 5400 series processors — a total of eight processor cores— and Apple said the device can give as much as twice the performance of the previous version. The new Mac Pro's base price is $2,799.
The new Xserve has a base price of $2,999 with one Quad-core Xeon processor and can be configured with up to two of the processors.
