Two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a high-security naval college Tuesday, killing five people and injuring 13.

The explosions took place in the parking lot of the Naval War College in the eastern city of Lahore.

Lahore police chief Malik Iqbal said two near simultaneous explosions took place in a food delivery truck.

Dr. Rizwan Naseer, a rescue service official, said most of the injured were in critical condition.

Officials said there was no damage to the college building.

Live television footage showed the rear gate of the college blown apart. Black smoke was also billowing from inside the college compound. Several injured people with bloodstained clothes were seen walking out. At least two vehicles were on fire.

Security personnel were seen clearing the area, a high-security neighborhood that includes the state governor's house, a five-star hotel and government offices.

The Naval War College trains senior naval officials from Pakistan and other countries.
