A charter bus carrying about 40 schoolchildren on a field trip to an aquarium overturned on a freeway near Birmingham, injuring several passengers.
State patrol spokesman David Richards said the bus driver and about 20 people, mostly students, were hurt in the accident Friday. Injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Richards said the children were on their way to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga when the bus ran off the road, hit a guard rail and overturned.
Two teachers were on the bus with the children from Bryan Elementary School in Jefferson County, Ala.
