Five French tourists were killed in a small plane crash in southern Peru Wednesday, authorities said.
Police chief Col. Guillermo Arteta says the Aero Ica plane went down near a landing strip in Peru's southern desert and that all five tourists on board died. Witnesses say the plane became caught in high-tension cables before crashing.
Aero Ica spokeswoman Angela Rosel says the tourists were viewing Peru's famed Nazca lines.
