A published report says uniforms belonging to Transportation Security Administration officers were left out in the open at a checkpoint at Chicago's O'Hare Airport last month.

So were sensitive security information and a cashbox.

The report in the Chicago Sun-Times says no security was breached, but an aviation security expert says uniforms could be stolen and used by people trying to get through security without being checked.

A TSA spokesman says someone in a TSA uniform couldn't get into a secure area without the proper identification, but a former inspector general of the Department of Transportation says TSA officers in uniform are routinely "waved through" some security checkpoints.
