Start your foodie adventure in Montreal, where you'll stay for a night at the 50-year-old, 1,039-room Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel in the heart of the city's cultural and commercial district. The hotel has a health club, an indoor pool, and dining options that include Les Voyageurs lounge, Le Montréalais bistro/restaurant, and the award-winning Beaver Club.

Whether you choose to explore Montreal by car or by hopping on the metro—there's a stop just under the hotel—some attractions to consider visiting include the European historic district of Old Montreal along the St. Lawrence River, the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Montreal Botanical Garden near Olympic Park, the lookout on top of Mount Royal, the Pointe-à-Callière archaeology museum, the Montreal Biodome, the Jean-Talon Market, and the boutiques and shops of the Underground City, which is connected to the Fairmont hotel.

Next, you'll drive 80 miles (about 1.5 hours) to St.-Paulin, a municipality in the Mauricie region of Quebec. You'll spend two nights at the 90-room Auberge La Baluchon, surrounded by forests, rapids, and waterfalls. The secluded hotel's rooms and facilities are located in different buildings connected to one another by a wooden walkway, and each of its four lodges includes a sauna and a whirlpool. Your stay includes three meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and a three-course gourmet French and Quebec table d'hote dinner, prepared by award-winning chef Patrick Gerome.

After fueling up in St.-Paulin, you'll be off to Montmagny, about 152 miles (approximately 2.5 hours) away on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The 24-room Manoir des Érables will be your home for two nights. Built in 1814 and converted into a gastronomically renowned restaurant/hotel in 1975, the manor is situated in a large park—a few minutes' walk to the river and about a 35 minutes' drive to Quebec City. You'll enjoy breakfast and dinner both days, and you can also take advantage of the manor's Parfum d'Armes Health Center, which offers a long list of massotherapy options, body care treatments, and facials (at an additional cost). You can find a list of treatments and prices here.

For the final stretch of the trip, drive to Quebec City and stay overnight at Auberge Duchesnay on the banks of Lake St.-Joseph. Each of the 48 rooms has a view of the lake. You can easily and happily fill your time by checking out sights like the Place Royale (or Royal Square); the Museum of Civilization; La Citadelle, the partially star-shaped fortress built by the Duke of Wellington after the War of 1812; and the Quebec Art Museum.

Need more time to explore? Additional nights at the mentioned hotels start from $148 per person, including an extra day's car rental but no meals.
