The deal
Sailings along the Mexican Riviera are absolutely stunning but usually priced pretty high due to the area’s eternal sunshine and pleasant climate. But with the threesome of stellar deals we scoured, you can save some serious dollars. Discounts run as high as 73 percent and prices drop to as low as $499.

Mexican Riviera sail with HAL
In September, Holland America’s upscale Ryndam sets sails from San Diego for a terrific circuit along the Mexican Riviera. This seven-night voyage is now on sale by CruisesOnly for just $499. This reflects a hefty discount of 36 percent. Indeed, inside cabins are regularly priced at $779 but with this special, even oceanview units — at only $699 — are affordable. En route, the ship visits Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, giving cruisers an entire day to explore each destination. Three days at sea are also included in the itinerary.

Winter cruise on Carnival Spirit
For a seven-night Mexican Riviera sailing that departs next winter roundtrip from San Diego, book the early-bird special we found on Orbitz. This weeklong odyssey aboard Carnival Spirit is now discounted by a whopping 73 percent! Inside cabins are selling for just $509, as opposed to the brochure price of $1,919. The ship departs in February 2009 at this price, en route visiting Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, and Manzanillo. Four days at sea are also part of the itinerary. Outside staterooms are on sale, too, for $599.

Discounted Disney summer voyage
If you want to depart sooner, Vacation Outlet has a stellar offer for a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise with Disney. You can save quite a chunk of change off the advertised price if you book an inside cabin on this journey that departs roundtrip from Los Angeles. These units now sell for $1,299, as opposed to $1,999. Ports of call include Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Three days at sea are part of the circuit, too. The ship has several scheduled departures at this price through June.

The dollars
The rates above are listed per person, based on double occupancy. The cost covers onboard accommodations, meals and entertainment, as well as port charges. You’ll just have to dish out extra for government taxes and fees, as well as any shore excursions you may decide to take.

The catch
Tequila shots not included.
