Athens, Ga., from $114 per room per night
The historic downtown—where R.E.M. got its start—will be abuzz with concerts during the 12th annual five-day AthFest. More than 175 bands are slated to perform at the festival, which also will feature a juried artisan market, the Flagpole Athens Music Awards, and KidsFest. In light of the festivities, the Holiday Inn Express is offering an Athfest hotel package, which includes two nights' accommodations for two in a room with either a king-size bed or two doubles as well as continental breakfast daily, two AthFest wristbands, two AthFest 2008 CDs, two AthFest T-shirt vouchers, two tickets for a two-hour guided bus tour of the historic music sites in Athens, and a $10 downtown Athens gift certificate. You'll also receive AthFest stickers, coupons for local restaurants, and an AthFest tote/backpack to store all the goodies. The hotel is located two blocks from the University of Georgia in downtown. Rates start from $149 for the first night and $79 for the second night, or an average of $114 per night. Additional hotels are available, including Courtyard By Marriott, Foundry Park Inn & Spa, and Georgia Gameday Center.

Nashville, Tenn., from $114 per room per night

Berea, Ky., from $160 per room per night

Charleston, S.C., from $210 per room per night

Savannah, Ga., from $250 per room per night
