Pensacola Beach, Fla., from $80 per room per night
In early October, Pensacola Beach in northwestern Florida is hosting its first-annual Art & Wine Weekend. Several area hotels are offering special rates: from $80 per room per night at the Paradise Inn, from $99 per room per night at the Days Inn Pensacola Beachfront and the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front (use promo code MSR), from $129 per room per night at the Holiday Inn Express (including breakfast), and from $186 per room per night at the Portofino Island Resort & Spa (with a three-night minimum). In addition to free wine tastings, the festival lineup calls for belly dancers, tiki carvers, art vendors, and a kids' kiosk. Keep in mind that 69 degrees is the average temperature in October.

Alexandria, Va., from $199 per room per night
Get into the "spirit" at the Mount Vernon Fall Wine Festival & Sunset Tour, held on George Washington's venerable estate. You'll enjoy an evening candlelit tour of Mount Vernon as well as a picnic dinner of fruit, cheese, and wine (taste selections from 16 area wineries). The Hotel Monacoin nearby Alexandria is offering a special $199 room rate that includes a night's accommodations and two tickets to the festival (a $60 value). The hotel also offers free parking and a shuttle to Reagan National Airport.

Horseshoe Bay, Tex., from $403 per room per night
Join the fun at the Texas Fall Fest & Wine Auctionat the Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas Hill Country (about 45 minutes from Austin). The resort's special packageincludes two nights' accommodations and tickets to all the festival's events (a $270 value per person). Among the highlights: a cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Grady Spearsand a wine-and-food-pairing seminar, plus tickets to the dinner and auction. You'll also gain entrance to a special VIP event, with cordials and petits fours at The Yacht Club. This is the fourth-annual fest and wine auction, which spotlights local products and raises money for wine research. The 7,000-acre resort (a sponsor of the festival) has lake views, three golf courses, and tennis courts. Rates start at $403 per room per night, or $806 for the required two-night stay.

Willamette Valley, Oregon's Wine Country Thanksgiving
Oregon's Willamette Valley is hosting its annual Wine Country Thanksgiving. More than 100 wineries will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day; for many, it is the only public opening all year. You can sign up for a free map on the Web site. There are a few ways to find a hotel of your choice: Traveloregon.com, Oregon's tourism commission site, has a good search engine, and the Willamette Valley wines sitealso has some lodging recommendations.
