Book the XOXO package and you'll receive accommodations, the book "The Best Places to Kiss in Northern California", a $25 gift card to Farallon restaurant, and late checkout. The package is available at six properties; the lowest rate ($139) is good at the Hotel Metropolis, The Maxwell, and the York Hotel. You can be one of the first to check out The Citizen Hotel when the 198-room boutique hotel opens this winter. Just two blocks from the state capitol, the Citizen has been restored to its vintage 1920s glory, complete with custom-designed furniture, doorknobs shaped like hands, and political cartoons by the city's own Newton Pratt. Introductory rates start at $149 per room per night (the price will go up in 2009).

The newly remodeled Warner Center Marriott Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley has come up with a Retail Therapy Package. The hotel is close to the Westfield Topanga Mall, the Camarillo Premium Outlets, and the boutiques of Beverly Hills. Rates start at $159 per room per night.
