A suburban Cleveland mayor will run unopposed in a special election to finish the term of the late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

Warrensville Heights Mayor Marcia Fudge will run alone on the Nov. 18 ballot as a Democrat. A Cleveland elections board removed independent candidate James Germalic from the ballot Thursday because he didn't have enough petition signatures.

Fudge faces Republican Thomas Pekarek in a Nov. 4 election for the new two-year term beginning in January.

Tubbs Jones died Aug. 20 after a brain hemorrhage.
