United Airlines parent UAL Corp. said Friday it has canceled plans to raise its second bag fee to $50 from $25 each way.

The fee for a first checked bag remains $15 for a one-way fare.

United is also offering a 20 percent discount on the first checked bag fee when customers pay on the carrier's Web site, united.com, starting Monday through Jan. 31.
