The deal
While everyone associates reggae with Jamaica (thanks to Bob Marley), many may not know that the island also offers a cutting-edge music scene for jazz and blues lovers. The annual Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival is another reason for music aficionados to head to the island. The three-day fest, featuring non-stop performances by Lionel Richie, The O’jays, and many more legendary acts, runs this January 22–24, 2009 at the historic Aqueduct in Montego Bay, and has drawn over 40,000 in past years. Tickets for the event start at $80/day, but you’ll need to book your hotel soon before they book up. We’ve found a few amazing deals on flights and hotels to help you out: Fly for as low as $49 and overnight at deluxe hotels from just $115/night.

Flights to Montego Bay from $49 (each way)
Air Jamaica—a major festival sponsor—is now offering super-low fares on flights to Montego Bay. These special web-only fares are each way flights starting at $49 from Miami; $84 from Atlanta; and $134 from New York. These rates won’t last long so hurry and book soon.
