A 9-year-old Tennessee boy was dragged for about 100 feet after his jacket became caught in a school bus door.

The boy was treated for cuts and bruises after the Friday accident.

A Knox County sheriff's spokeswoman told The Knoxville News Sentinel the boy was not a regular rider of the bus.

The boy tried to step into the bus following a girl who was a regular rider, but the door closed, catching his jacket.

A Knox County Schools spokesman said the bus was owned by a contractor. It has been impounded for state inspection.

No citation was issued.
