Police in New Mexico have unearthed an 11th body outside Albuquerque.

The remains were found buried in roughly 30-by-10-yard area atop a mesa west of the city.

Police have been searching the area since Feb. 2, when a hiker found a human bone on the mesa, which had been cleared for a housing development.

Albuquerque police think one person is responsible for burying the bodies but have not named a suspect.

The victims are believed to be among 16 women who disappeared between 2001 and 2006. Police say all were transients and had a history of drug addiction and prostitution.

So far only two of the recovered bodies have been identified. One is Michelle Valdez. She disappeared in 2005 and was pregnant when she died. Police count her fetus among the 11 victims.
