The Real Deal: Round-trip airfare on a Continental carrier to Paris, four nights' accommodations, breakfast daily and fuel surcharges, from $599 per person — plus estimated taxes of $106.

Why it's a deal: According to a recent Kayak search, the lowest round-trip airfare between New York and Paris for departures in early April is $404 including taxes (Continental). For an additional $301, the Gate 1 package covers international airfare as well as four nights' accommodations and all taxes and fuel surcharges.

Lodging: Four nights at the 201-room Kyriad Paris XII-Bercy Village in the business district near Gare de Lyon station or at the 53-room Villa St. Martin close to St. Martin Canal.
