A second teenager in two days received probation for the videotaped beating of a Florida cheerleader that was viewed worldwide on the Internet and TV.

A judge sentenced Mercades Nichols to three year's probation Friday and ordered her to perform 100 hours of community service. The 18-year-old had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery for the March 2008 attack.

On Thursday, Brittany Mayes was sentenced to one year's probation in the attack. The remaining three teens will be sentenced later this month.

Police say the victim, a 16-year-old cheerleader, was hospitalized for a concussion and bruises but has since recovered.

The victim’s father claimed the teens were motivated by plans to produce a video that would become popular on a video-sharing Web site. But the mother of one girl said the victim provoked the other teens by insulting them on a social networking site.

Five teenage girls were arrested as the video began making the rounds of the Internet. .
