Why it's a deal: A search on Kayak for western Mediterranean cruises available in November shows prices ranging from $699 for a seven-night cruise aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Gem to $3,565 for seven nights aboard Regent's Seven Seas Navigator, not including taxes.

Consider that this Friendly Planet package costs $1,799 and covers an eight-night cruise as well as one night in a hotel, as well as all ground transportation and group transfers. Continue sailing to Lisbon, Portugal's evocative capital on the banks of the Tagus River. Lodging: Eight nights in an inside cabin aboard the luxurious 18-deck, 1,275-room MSC Orchestra. Upgrade to an outside cabin with a porthole for $150 per person or an outside cabin with a balcony for $300 per person.
