  • Contributor Herb Weisbaum wrote about work-at-home home scams to watch out for, including state investigations on rebateprocessorjobs.com and processathome.com.
  • He also reports on stimulus scams . Some Web sites that claim to offer grant money from the government are bogus.
  • A growing number of companies also promise to help people drowning in debt . They “guarantee” to lower your monthly credit card payments and get collection agencies off your back. Phony debt relief outfits take your money and do nothing. Don’t respond to the first ad you see or hear.
  • MSNBC's Bob Sullivan reported on job listings for a marketing manager position. Applicants were asked online to fill out a form. The data was actually stolen by an ID thief.
