As it was for many of her classmates here, Saturday’s high school graduation was an emotional ceremony for 18-year-old Alyson Costilla, a moment of pride long anticipated.

Tucked among the cornfields and water towers of Littlefield, Texas, Dr. Isabel Molina treats one patient after the next at Lamb Healthcare Center. She and her partner serve a population of around 15,000. To keep up with her patient load, Molina regularly works 13-hour days without stopping to eat.

 
Violinist's after-school program brings hope to kids

  Some mornings, beneath the streets of Boston, David France plays his violin for the passers-by who fill the subway corridor. He uses this money to fund Revolution of Hope, an after-school orchestra he started a few months ago in the disenfranchised community of Roxbury.
