The deal
Brushing shoulders with old money isn’t limited to Hamptons’ beaches, as New Yorkers can walk alongside residents of another coveted summer rental location — Nantucket, Massachusetts with JetBlue’s new service. A journey to this luxury vacation spot which had once taken the length of a cross-country flight is now quicker for New Yorkers to reach than their favorite Long Island getaway.

JetBlue has announced flights will be returning to Nantucket Island with non-stop service from New York’s JFK airport. In addition, the airline will be introducing connections between Nantucket and a myriad of other U.S. cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles (connections to Burbank and LAX start June 17th). The direct flight  from New York will take approximately one hour.

Former travel to Nantucket was quite the process – it required a car ride to Hyannis, along with the potentially sea-sickening two-hour and 15-minute ride on traditional Steamship service, or an hour-long ride on the high-speed ferry. Although roundtrip service to the island onboard the Hy-Line high-speed ferry is a mere three dollars cheaper than a $79 one-way ticket to Nantucket on JetBlue, the price of gas coupled with the $17 per vehicle per calendar day parking fee surpasses the price of an enjoyable flight.

The dollars
Rates start at $79  (each way) from New York, and do not include taxes and fees.

The catch
The offer is only valid from New York and has to be utilized for travel on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
